My favorite musical is West Side Story. It has its issues, but the music itself is incredible. I feel a little corny doing this, but today I’ve decided to play “Somewhere.” It’s the only song in the play that doesn’t contain a tritone (a dissonant interval, the main theme of “Maria” is the standard example) because it’s about that idealistic world where conflict doesn’t exist. A dream, a wish, a distant future. One I hope we can attain one day.

I want to dedicate this one to all the lawyers who have been working at airports this weekend, including my friend Xiaoxi. You are all heroes. I’m just providing a soundtrack. Full lyrics here: http://www.westsidestory.com/site/level2/lyrics/somewhere.html

(Also, trying a new recording setup today. Webcams are still a thing, I guess!)
